The Late Show’s Gospel Choir’s New CD

                                                                      March 13, 2017

Brooklyn, NY. Spring’s coming! And, so is some foot-stomping new music! Lady Peachena & the famed Late Show’s Gospel Choir should reach a multitude of new fans with their new CD, “Jesus Lives in Me,” which was released by Platinum Peachtree Records, (her label) earlier this month with a rocking CD Release Celebration Concert at The Shrine World Music Venue, in Harlem, New York.

Lady Peachena started off this inspirational album paying homage to Gospel’s Queen, Mahalia Jackson, singing three of her biggest hits, “It Is No Secret,” “I Found the Answer,” & “How I Got Over,” with The Late Show’s Gospel Choir supplying sweet harmonies in the background.

There’s something for everybody on this album; the traditional hymns for the older crowd, and rhythmic upbeat Urban-Gospel songs for the younger fans. Lady Peachena’s powerful voice soars triumphantly as she pours out raw soul over the next six songs, five of which she co-wrote with three known musicians in the New York-New Jersey Gospel community. Without a doubt, the future smash hit is the title song, “Jesus Lives in Me,” a perfect Easter song and a driving Funk-Gospel rocker that she wrote with Joeworn Martin, keyboardist & former member of LFT’s Levites Band. Joeworn wrote “Lift Him Up”for Bishop Hezekiah Walker’s Grammy-winning Love Fellowship Choir. With another LFT Levite band member, bassist Dwayne Gott, she composed the Sunday morning church-anthem, “Watch God Work,” a song that’s reminiscent of her tenure with the Institutional Radio Choir.

Since 1997 Lady Peachena’s been a member of Love Fellowship Tabernacle of Brooklyn, NY, where the renowned Bishop Hezekiah Walker is senior pastor. She’s an original member of the church’s Rhema Choir, as well as a member of LFT’s Celebration Choir, and the Grammy-winning Love Fellowship Choir. Over the years this Grammy-nominated songwriter has produced 5 solo albums, 3 children’s choir albums, and this is her second production of The Late Show’s Gospel Choir. All of these albums are available on,,, and other music outlets on the Internet.

Something else wonderful has happened this year, Gospel great Cece Winans recorded Lady Peachena’s Grammy-nominated song, “Dancing In The Spirit”(track 8) on her “Let Them Fall in Love” Top 10 Gospel album on the Curb/Pure Springs label. “I’m so excited that she chose my song. Bishop Hezekiah Walker told me that she wanted to record it about a year ago, and I sent her my blessings. She sounds fantastic singing it too,” said Lady Peachena. (“Dancing In The Spirit” was a smash hit when it was recorded 29 years ago by the late Ron Winans & his Family & Friends Choir with Bishop Marvin Winans singing the lead).

A few years ago, this Gospel Diva reunited with longtime bandmate, Gregg Fitz, former keyboardist-singer with funk-rock band, Quazar, (she was one of the lead singers), in 1977 & 78, and they started writing and recording songs together. “Let’s Celebrate” & “Work Your Faith,” two funky Gospel/Hip Hop flavored tunes were two of the fruits of their labor. “Many People Don’t Pray” is a somber ballad that chronicles today’s society with so many disenchanted people so caught up with the world’s chaotic problems that they’ve stopped going to church.

Longtime friend & assistant choir director, Deborah Malone Sargeant, helped out with most of the soulful vocal arrangements for the choir. “Jesus Lives in Me” is now available at: For bookings of The Late Show’s Gospel Choir visit their website at: In essence, you’re guaranteed to find yourself humming and singing along to the beat of every song on this spirit-filled project. Enjoy yourself!
